Abstract:

How will advances in AI affect humans? AI technology has made remarkable progress and is being widely used in our daily lives. And AI has the potential to fundamentally change the way people think, communicate and learn. However, compared to the interest in the development of AI technology itself, research on the impact of AI on the life of humans is insufficient.

Go is an important example of how advances in AI will affect human life because this is the first case that AI has achieved superhuman performance in complex areas of expertise. The historic event in 2016 when AlphaGo defeated Lee Sedol has had a huge impact on professional Go players. Nowadays, with the rapid development and popularization of Go AI after AlphaGo, anyone can experience AI surpassing the best professional players only on their desktop computer.

In this lecture, I will present the changes of professional Go players after AlphaGo to understand the impact of AI development on human life for the development of human-centered AI. After AlphaGo, AI is the teacher of professional Go players, not taking the place of professional Go players. It is an example of AI helping humans as a great tool in an area where AI has surpassed humans. Then, I will briefly introduce the current status of Esports as well as my current work as a Esports data analyst.
